Hi Everybody,
My 6 girls are due for their worming. I have bought a 10kilo bag of layers pellets with Flubenvet in them. How much should I be feeding them for the 7 days. The instructions say 1 kilo per day for the 6, but I know that they will not eat all of the amount that I give them. Does it matter how much they eat of the food?

Basically you should give them their 'usual' amount of food per day as the Flubenvet pellets, and restrict/cut out everything else so you know that anything they eat for a week is going to have the wormer in it. My birds were FR but I kept them in the pen for the weeks they were being wormed.

Yes,you shouldn't limit the feed, chickens need to nibble when they want to feed throughout the day. The idea of Flubenvet pellets is that each bird will eat the correct amount/dose for her own bodyweight, so just confining them and feeding only pellets will do this for you.
You will have quite a lot of pellets left over from 10kilos for 6 birds, nearly half a bag I expect, which will be out of date and thus useless in 6 months time when they need dosing again. Another way is to buy flubenvet powder and simply weigh out enough pellets for the week, then mix it in according to the dose - 1 scoop of powder per 1 kilo of pellets. The pot of powder contains enough for 20 doses so will do your 6 hens 3 times, and it has a long best before date so can be kept in a cool place until next time.
This has ended up in the wrong section by accident, so I'm moving your post to Pests and Predators, where there are lots of posts about worming.
