I hope I am not tempting fate, but my Cream Legbar eggs are just starting to pip, can everyone please cross their fingers for me and hope that I get a high percentage of females, as I really really hate having to get rid of lovely bundles of fluff, and is not something I am looking forward to be having to do at the weekend = a few stiff drinks required (nice to have self sexing chicks but sometimes I wish they weren;t!)
 
Aaah,good luck,I'm sure they'll hatch fine and I'll keep my finger's crossed for girls.
 
good luck, my first ever clb hatch was 4f 2m and i kept them all cos im too soft :oops:
i have pekins and silkies pipping so will be trying to sex them in around 6 weeks

Many thanks all, 10 females 1 male so far, further 12 pipping as I type. Last lot of pekins just hatched. Speckled Sussex and Orp Bantams waiting in tray to go in once room in incubator rest of eggs to be sold on ebay as have no more room for a further 3 weeks.

Girlracer265 - have finished hatching my silkies and pekins for now so I know what you mean about trying to sex the silkies they can take for ages, pekins can tell around 4 weeks but silkies 6-10 weeks (but buff orps still scratching my head at some of them at 20 weeks!)
 
Well done! how did you get so many girls?? My poot pair now 4 weeks still are 2 of each-worked out great a pair for me and a pair for a pal. VP-----You may be a granny again soon , Boris (speck sx) has 2 eggs in inccy to see if fertile-and they are-cant chuck them out can I!!!!!!!!!Ros

Fantastic Ros, gran again :? :D 1 pen of speckled laying but all been clear, other pen hasn't bothered yet to lay but they are all mid/late last years birds, lets hope your eggs hatch and are female.

Glad to hear you've got a nice lot of clb girls from your hatch so far. My girls have recently started to lay, so I'm saving eggs for the incy. I hope you get a good result for the rest. Keep us posted. :)
 
Out of the 23 eggs - 2 died in shell, 4 males remaining females :D :D :D
Decided = going to keep the males until 20 weeks, and have a 2nd pen of cream legbars. (I am getting to soft).
