Hi there,
I have a Magpie duck pair that successfully laid a clutch of eggs earlier in the season. The duck sat on her eggs and after a few weeks I noticed a broken one with a dead in shell chick, almost ready except for the yolk sack still outside. After a couple of weeks I was getting worried that the others hadn't hatched, and I started checking the nest every day, only to find the number of eggs going down each day with no sign of where they went! I'm worried it might be something stealing them or the duck eating them?
Anyway, I want to get an incubator to hatch the eggs now, but I was wondering when she'll start to lay again? Or will it be next year now?
