My origional flock has 8 LF hens and a very mild mannered banty cochin roo. They are in a coop with a very large run.

I hatched some chicks 6 weeks ago and now I have 4 banty polish - 3 pullets, 1 roo and 2 LF Buff Orpington - 1 pullet, 1 roo. They are now in a large rabbit hutch and run temporarily.

I also have a banty cochin who is broody and sitting on 3 eggs.

PLAN A: was just to put them all in together. There's enough room in the origional coop and run. But then I read a bit about polish chickens getting picked on and having their crest feathers plucked out so...

PLAN B: I decided to build a separate coop and run for the 6 week old chicks (and possibly the banty cochin and her chicks when the time comes). This coop is now nearly done. However I have been reading a lot lately about young roosters benefiting from being brought up in a mature flock, as the older roo and hens basically show them the ropes and teach them some manners which goes some way to stopping the young roosters becoming aggressive.

So what would you do?
Put them all together like plan A? Separate them out like plan B? Or some sort of other plan C option?

Culling roosters isn't an option for me.
