Wheaten maran that didn't hatch

On my last hatch I had a wheaten maran that zipped all the way around the egg overnight, with a half inch gap in the white skin so it was clearly visible, but it did not hatch. What could have gone wrong? I was so sure it was going to hatch. I also had one pip half cm from the underside of the egg which sounded strong but never hatched.

Only thing I can think of is the humidity was too low and it stuck to the membrane Chickenfan.

Its very strange. I have a hygrometer to check the humidity and it is fine.
