whats fun for chickens??

cheers for taking a look, whats fun for chickens, i've got multible areas for scratching around amoungst bushes and bits, different places for food hanging down, a little breakfast bar in the middle of a bush, perches, but i tried popping a little swing for them, didnt try that out! so removed it, have you heard of anything chickens like or something you put in there for your chickens....

I think you've covered most things there, but a swing was always going to be a no as they like a firm perch, regardless of the car advert demonstration. They like a soil/dust bath as well -keeps them cool and helps with feather lice. That probably gives them greatest pleasure and you will see them go into raptures and not notice anything around them. Mine create their own in the dry soil underneath the coops, but they will chose anywhere with loose soil, it doesn't have to be completely dry and in Summer best it isn't as it will cool them down.

hello, thanks for the reply, sorry for my delay

they do make their own little dust baths but i have thought about creating a more permanent one, as the ones they make have wood chips knocked into them from the terrain next to it and the other place they make, the roots from the bushes and trees get in the way a bit. I've tried to search the internet for other ideas but to no avail due to the size of my coop its more then sufficient but is limited as they still need their space to roam, I'm starting to think that all past times have been covered, all but getting a cockerel anyway!
