Can you tell me roughly how big he is, in relation to a Mallard say?
 
Katydid, he is just slighty bigger than his partner a female Mallard. Could he be a Cayuga or a Cayuga mix?
 
I have a boy who has the same colouring but he his huge. I would suspect he is a hybrid cod be anything. Mallard cross domestic something. Perhaps Cayuga or khaki Campbell. He is beautiful whatever he is. Thanks for the pic :)

I think your right duggat, we have Cayugas but he doesn't look big enough, but the colouring would suggest he's a cross between a Cayuga and something else.

My guess would be either black call duck mallard cross or cayuga mallard cros.

I would go for the former because his bill is small for a Cayuga, or a mallard. Either way he is lovely. Is he alone now? orhas he got a new friend?

hi all, i have cayuga's, khaki campbells, and indian runners who have all crossed bred. I would say the male duck is a cross between a cayuga and a call duck going by the shape of the head and body, and the one in the back of the picture is a cayuga campbell cross. Thats just my 2 pence worth lol
 
He is lovely and super friendly! How lucky am I?
He now has a Mallard female that he absolutely adores. She is a little more timid but still I am able to approach and pick her up.
Oh happy days.
Tried to upload pics but said it was too big a thingy! Not good with tech stuff. Any help would be more than welcome.

Well done duggat. Delighted he has a friend because they so need company. It's a shame you can't get more pictures because I'd love to see them.
