Out of my 5 chicks it seems 2 are not laying.
One is not tip-top at the mo, runny poo & generally very lethargic but seems to be gradually improving each day, she hasn't laid for a few months but not bothered as she was well & happy (I thought). She's the 'head girl'
Now it seems another one has gone off laying too. My Campine (about a year old) is a very consistent layer, lays for 5 days then has 2 days off then lays for another 5 days etc. Over the last 2 weeks its gradually reduced with more off days than on & now she hasn't laid for 5 consecutive days.
Is this something to worry about? She seems healthy & happy, although bottom of the pecking order she knows her place
she's eating etc.
I have found her sitting in the nesting box a couple of times & thought this would produce an egg but no. Apparently they are not a broody breed so don't think its this. Don't think she's overweight but as she's a small bird I'm not sure how I would tell :? I've felt her & she seems not overly chubby over the breastbone.
I'm concerned that this might be a problem I'm not spotting & don't want the others to 'get' whatever it might be. Any ideas anyone. Thanks in advance.
