What age is it ok to put young birds outside ? Now they have there feathers
Plus my coop is well shelterd with no drafts apart from there run ,I need the heated brooder for some more in a week or do
They will be 5 weeks now

last year I put my chicks out by themselves at five weeks as the broody started attacking them. They were fine although it was slightly warmer last year. I would think as long as they are reasonably feathered and have plenty of bedding and there are enough of them to huddle together they would be fine next week. Sure an expert will be back to you very soon

We put ours out from 6 weeks, but with it being cold and wet would bring them in at night until 8 weeks Ziggy.

I agree - it's not worth taking chances.

Yes thank you I think that's right as its a bit change able at the moment , I'm going to wean them off the lamp more and give them another space in my garage , it's dry and not drafty , as I put 4 inches of shavings down every week , just the buggers will try and fly out of it !!
