westernette incubator/setter. humidity control

I have recently up-graded to a westernette incubator that has chickmaster controls, therefore using contact thermometers for temperature control. What I do have with this machine, is a contact thermometer that controls the humidity. This thermometer is operated as a wet bulb and the contacts of it, open and close a valve that allows water to flow into the water pan. What I am not familiar with, is the external water supply, does it need a pressurized ( mains water) supply or can it be fed by gravity from a header tank? I can see the advantage of this, I would not need to open the door to refill water pans! Any advice would be much appreciated.
