Someone mentioned WD40 works for curing Scaly Leg. You miught be interested in reeading what else its useful for. You'll be amazed.

On finding red paint on his new car a man’s neighbour came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint job that was on the truck. I'm impressed! WD-40 who knew? 'Water Displacement #40'. The product began from a search for rust preventative solvent and de greaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Convair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you. When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it on your stove top..... Voila! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed..

Here are some other uses:

lol hubby swears by the stuff, no wonder he keeps it hidden... also great for loosening that screw that just won't budge ;) . Hmnnn fish attractant huh? bet he doesn't know about that one though hahaha. Look out Elton lakes! might just have to give it a go, will let you know if it works... but then I usually catch bigger fish than the other half anyways =p

Well - that is so interesting Lucylou!! I think it's just the thought of putting it on chickens legs - but I have read that lots of people do and swear by it. Do you know what other ingredients are in it? It would be interesting to know. :D

Must be a man thing - so does mine - at one time I thought he was addicted to it - like glue sniffing

Hmm I don't know, I wouldn't put it on their legs personally. Not when there are other treatments like vaselline or dipping in surgical spirits but each to their own..

I met the girl who fills our coffee machine at work the other day and she had just finished re-filling it. As I got myself a drink I said "Something smells like WD40 around here.." She turned to me and said "yes, I polish up the plastic where you get your drink from with a bit of WD40 because it brings it up nice and shiny..."

I nearly spat my coffee out!

Didn't realise Tim had chicken/cockerel type legs :? :D  ..........Explains a lot  (why he is so expert with poultry)just in case you lot thought I was being rude/personal ;) .

Good thought Kym,can't believe I didn't think of tea tree oil, seeing as used it on reptiles.Thinking it should work very well.

It's used in 'Red Mite Powder'... the product by that name. Would definately be worth trying on Scaly Leg..

I found another use for it.
