Hi there, I wonder whether anyone can help,

We have a 2 year old Warren (Sylvia Berlusconi) who has laid regularly, pretty much 6 days out of 7, since she first came into lay. She suddenly stopped laying about 2 weeks ago but continues to seem otherwise well. Can anyone suggest what the cause might be? They don't seem to be very keen on the latest batch of layers pellets, but I'd be surprised if that would knock her off lay completely?

Our Light Sussex continues to lay and the other Warren (Daphne) continues to lay very sporadically since she moulted in late November.

Thanks for any help
Mark

Assuming you've checked all the usual things for any problems (respiratory, lice, worms etc) Does she seem well in herself & eating OK? Is her comb still bright & healthy looking?

You might get some indication from some of the above.

My recent experience was same symptoms (i.e. stopped laying) sadly the outcome was egg peritonitus. Do hope its not the same with Sylvia.

She seems well enough in herself though I notice now she isn't eating very much though she does run to the food bowl each morning and scratch around. Her comb is bright and healthy looking.

She's been on the nest for the last 2 mornings so I'm hoping she is coming back into lay. I'm assuming if she was egg-bound she would be dead by now?

Rgds
