VSB door opener.

Can anyone with information on these please help.

I think i want the VSB SA version due to being able to manual overide the system to close the door if i wish as it does not appear you can on the normal model ?? or am i wrong?

Does anyone know/ suggest places for the best prices (forum discount shops etc )
best so far seems to be £99 for base with another 30ish for sa version.

anyone know where it can be beaten or selling one

I have a door opener and when I was pricing them up around £100 for the basic model was the cheapest I could find too!
Definitely worth paying the extra for the timed model though- Lost nearly all my pekins due to an early morning fox attack as the light sensor meant the pop hole was opening at around 4.30am - :evil:

I have 3 of them with timers and the VSBi were all around £110 or so a few years ago.

I much prefer the VSBi because you can mount them inside, and mount the light sensor outside on a cable. I was told a few years ago that the prices were very similar between distributors because there was a set RRP for them.

The VSB-SA is £130 on Amazon

The VSBi is £115

The VSB is £104

I would definately recommend the VSB Timer though to stop it opening up too early it's £30 but money well spent to stop the early morning fox attack problem in the summer.

The SA model is normally for ducks. On the VSB, it has pins that you connect the timer up to = the timer just provides an open or closed contact across these pins (like a switch) and this overides the light sensor. So if you had a spare switch, you could easily manualy overide the unit to close it if you wanted to during the day for example whilst cleaning.

Agree with Tim and Pebejuno, paying a little extra is worth its weight in gold, particulary early morning, I like my birds to be up around the same time as me....not Mr Fox....
All mine are on timers, the neighbours appreciate it too!!!
