Another question from us Quail virgins but we are having a few problems. We currently have a handfull of Quails. We didnt think that these birds would be so vicious to each other, is this normally the case???? We have seperated them to the best of our ability, but it seems like the females are the ones doing most of the damage.

They are laying eggs for fun but we are just abit concerned about the danage done too each other.

Any info would be appreciated.

Just 2 thoughts ---Are you sure there are not more males than you think ? Could they be bored ?- mine have 'toys' of a sand bath (where they spend a lot of time ) , a large suspended bundle of fresh twigs/leaves that reaches the ground and an open ended wooden box they run in and out of. Ros,

Think we have them sexed right, well hope so anyway, lol.

If it is a male wouldnt think it would attack female's just play piggy backs hahahah, just thought it would attack other males. Or is this not the case....

What kind of toys do you put with them?? As will go and get some to see if that solves the problem...

Cheers mate.

The quails have now settled down after we repaired them
off and also split the cages up. We have tried them
with the greens but at the min they dont seem too fussed,
we will keep putting it in and see how they go.

They have also started to settle with the egg laying and we
are getting a steady flow of eggs each day.

Thanks for the advice, bit dont worry we will be back soon
testing your knowledge very soon. :D

Cheers

Craig & Emma.
