3 very large Croad eggs yesterday, and that my 3 growers, are doing just that.
My purebred white Leghorn utility pullets are lovely and slim and lively. The blue egg layer, another purebred is also growing apace she does appear a fearful creature though, very nervous and timid. I will persevere and hope to make her people friendly eventually.

I guess Leghorns are known to be flighty, so perhaps its not a surprise. A utility line should give you an excellent producer though, keep us updated, I'd love to know.

My cream legbar, Tufty, isn't very cuddly either Valerie, though that does change when I've got treats- she'll climb on my lap for those!

I have 5 Croads, 2 RIRs, and lovely floppy overweight Gloria, my Barred Plymouth Rock, and the three growers who are in the same pen, separated. None of the Croads are youngsters anymore, so may get a couple of white ones this year. which will be interesting, as they will not be related , obviously! I am looking forward to that. All of my hens are HUGE, don't know why, but anyone who sees them says what a size they are!
I wish I could post pictures, but cannot get the technique.
