As you can see from my previous posts I have nursed previously one of my chickens with vent gleet and has now relapsed again. She is in isolation and has been for nearly a week now. Treating her with Epsom Salts, cider vinegar, yogurt [inserted into vent with a syringe] but she was constantly straining trying to poo I think, so I adminstered some vegetable oil and this morning when I checked her found like giblets in her bed. She has been a lot livelier today and is eating a little better but even though the vent gleet and her vent was a lot cleaner this morning, it is still not right. What was this giblet/liver bits she parted with?
In the past as well she has prolapsed again successfully treated this and is not laying. I found her yesterday looking into a corner with her head in her neck and thought if she does not improve I will take her to the vet to have her put to sleep as I thought if she is suffering I couldn't let her but as I said earlier she is a lot better today. What else can I do to help her?
