I have incubated 6 FCBM eggs in a Brinsea Eco incubator, 5 have hatched and the 6th is pipping (today is day 21) . However one chick died within an hour of hatching, it seems to have had its head stuck between the water container and the plastic fan housing above it. It didn't drown, the cover was over the water container but it was clearly stuck  . Is this a common problem with this incubator?? Also how soon can I get the chicks out into the brooder? I'm afraid to leave them in it any longer than is absolutely necessary in case it happens again.

Personally in this case if youre that concerned Id keep an eye on things closely, and then remove them immediately when all have dried out and fluffed up (Probably now looking at the time of youre original thread). You wouldnt want to open the incubater anyway while other chicks are hatching as you release all the humidity and risk drying the membrane making it more difficult for the final chicks to get out.

In normal circumstances i leave mine 18-24Hrs before removing from the incubator.
