Success! Thank you Marigold for your advice, after a week in the 'sin bin' she's forgotten all about having chicks! As I was away a week I thought it better to leave her there as it would have been difficult to re-introduce her when I wasn't there. She doesn't seem any the worse for her confinement & eager to get back to the crowd.

Only downside is that she's now being hen-pecked by one of my others, I think its gradually getting back to normal but keeping my eye on them!

Oh good, I wondered how she was getting on. Next time, (if there is a next time) you'll be able to spot the early signs, act immediately, and then she will only need about 3 days in the sin bin and won't have any reintegration problems. My Marigod recovered promptly and is now back in lay. We're going away next Saturday, so I fear she will take the chance to time her next go just the same as yours did!
I hope you had a good holiday and found the building work had progressed well in your absence.
