On Sunday I was out giving my ducks and hens their afternoon snack and when calling them to me I could hear a cat from a barn next door to me calling back. Of course I went to investigate expecting to find a lost or injured adult cat requiring help. Instead out comes the most ADORABLE kitten about 8 weeks old, tame as anything, so not feral. I picked it up and brought it in and here, 5 days later, she remains-no sign of an owner-I live in a small village, no one has lost her,so I assume a drive by dumping. Anyway just thought I'd let my poultry family know I now have as well as the ducks,hens,2 dogs, one adult cat, a little calico coloured kitten called Bridie (white with orange and black patches). Her favourite place to sit is on the Agabridie.jpg

Kudos to you on the rescue. :-)17
I have the opposite problem. In addition to our two house cats we have a barn cat that doesn't stay home. If he's gone one day I don't worry; if he stays gone for more than two I start checking outbuildings to make sure he hasn't gotten trapped. One of our cats was once trapped in an outbuilding for eleven days and survived. I feel kind of silly doing so but if he's not back by day three I start calling our neighbors to see whose house our barn cat is hanging around.

Enjoy your new kitty.

Well done for looking after her NEWTODUCKS, she obviously knew where to go to find a nice new warm home! She's very cute! :-)17

I love her to bits already, I just wish she could tell me her story and how she came to be where she was. Atleast she's found herself a home for life now.
