well we separated our chicks on friday and built a run around their house so we could feed them without our older hens and ducks getting at the feed and its been hectic.Because they have had the run of the yard they are not happy.we can only feed them in the morning and late evening because they are trying to fly out [ it's 5 ft high ]making very good attempts at it too.gone very wild too :? and to top it all,the mother hen has been giving them a rough time.we let them roam with the others during the day because i'm afraid they will hurt themselves flying into the wire.at the moment none of them are getting on 
.and the mother has started to spend time in the other house,i'm wondering is it time to put her back with the older ones ?? the plan has always been to give four of the chicks to a friend,would this be a good time to do that if the mother is pushing them away? it was so much easier when we just had the older ones....not as interesting or as entertaining...just calmer. :lol:
