This has really surprised me.
Our new bantam cock is out there now with the more easy going of the hens and is getting more confident wandering around the coop (Teabag the nutcase [love her really] is in his roost extension for a while each evening.)
He has been tock, tocking whenever he finds something tasty like I'd heard about but the hens don’t seem to know what he's saying! I though everything chicken was instinctive from hatch, well language anyway. If they knew what he was saying I’m sure it would endear them to him quicker - even Teabag would be impressed if he was offering her food!

I'm glad he's getting over the trauma of moving and leaving his last girls 'Rick. I hope they will soon fall in love with his charms as he is a bit special.

Rick I hate to say it but they know what he's saying alright they're just ignoring him, happens to blokes all over the world.

Well if they don't fall in love with him in the next weeks, I suggest swapping him for another cockerel so that he can have a happy life.

Well its more Jarvis Cocker than Tom Jones but there is defiantly some chemistry going on. Betty is always hanging around near him both through the wire and when he's out. Aerial has gone broody for the first time ever and Teabag is wielding her rolling pin with diminished gusto.

He's a great shape isn't he, you could model a teapot on him and I mean that in a good way. I see your a bit of a dark horse mind Rick, keeping quiet about your new rare breed chicken, lovely pink and blue colouring it's got.

He is like a little teapot and will sit in your hand like this for however long you like! His tail has a fantastic blue/green sheen that is difficult to photograph - similar black to Valerie’s Croads I imagine.

I’m surprised you don’t recognise an Eastern Stripy Tinshank when you see one Dinosaw! - very easy to keep but don’t lay many eggs unfortunately :)

He is lovely and seems happy enough, I'm quite envious actually. The green needs good light condition to turn out on photographs but not really bright sunlight either.

So now the true identity behind the clearly fake moniker "Rick" is revealed, you are infact Tin Henman and I claim my 50p.

Great to see him looking so happy and settled in his new home Rick! My neighbour has complained to environmental health without telling me there was any problem about the last little sablepoot she had said she didn't mind. I'm confused as its so quiet in the garden now with everything moved to the field.

If it's anything like the local authority I work for Chickenfan, the EH department will have bigger fish to fry! It's a shame when people dont just let you know about their concerns politely but clearly though and you've been busy finding solutions too!
