For the last week or so I've been finding small toadstools growing in my covered run under the hardwood chips! I have yet to identify these, but are hens likely to eat them even if they're poisonous or should they know to leave them alone. They seem to pop up overnight and they will get to them before I will in the morning.

Recently had a few growing along the edge of the woodchip path on the allotment. Watched one chook go up and have a look but she did not eat any.
I have removed them all just to be on the safe side. :?

We have them growing here as well Sue, in the oak leaf mulch (but haven't found any truffles yet) which the runs are sitting on. They leave them alone and they only get moved and broken when they scratch looking for grubs. We had them in the runs in the UK as well -same result. Completely ignored them.

Thanks, much more sensible than I give them credit for! I'll stop worrying (but still remove them when I find them!!)
