Wait is it possum or opossum? you know what I mean.
The neighbor has brought it to my attention that he spotted a couple of opossums out by the road the other morning. I think it was because it was trash collection day but now I'm freaked out that they could be coming for my hens.
Do you guys use trail cams or other cameras for keeping an eye on night time predators? I don't think our dog will be of much help lol.
Does anyone have any experience using red or orange lights on a motion sensor to scare them off?
Ugh what a hassle!

Ok so I'm not too sure about opossums. We do have them here but they don't really come around our chickens that I've noticed. I haven't had to get a camera yet but I suppose that might help with the raccoons we do get. I haven't used the motion sensor lights but that's interesting! Maybe someone else with experience will chime in there.

My coop is pretty new and well built. I added an automatic door so they are well protected at night. I haven't seen opossums by the coop but I have seen them in our yard and neighborhood. They seem to prefer trash lol
