Betty, my cream legbar pullet has perked up a great deal and has nearly finished the prescribed course of antibiotics. She is eating well now and much more confident.
However. I think the underlying problem is that her nares, particularly the left one, are really tiny and are getting blocked. I forgot to wipe them yesterday and this evening she was making odd short calling noises, presumably trying to clear them. I wiped them clean again but really need to put reading glasses on to even see them.
I'm hoping that the slits will get bigger as she grows and the present size is a result of stunted growth (hopefully now cured) because at this rate she is going to get another infection pretty quickly.
Has anyone had this problem?

Been wiping them every day and its going OK. The dry film when it forms is beak colour so difficult to see what's going on but I can see a distinct nostril on that side now.
Thought I would wipe Teabag's beak while I was at it and she nearly ate the cotton ball!

Keep at it Rick, it's not something I have come across so can't really offer much help unfortunately, I have seen decongestants such as olbas oil and vetrx suggested for this type of thing elsewhere but whether they would be effective your guess is as good as mine.
