don't know about you but i am so fed up with this weather, i have to keep the big water proof cover on the quails run so i can't spend as much time with them, i wish i could keep them indoors. it's got to get better soon.
they are all laying in their house which is great and easy for me to collect their eggs, i still have one that has not laid it's the cream coloured one, she/he is still very skittish i am keeping my eye on her/him, i think it would of crowed by now if it was a male?
they love meal worms, grapes and millet spray, but they are not keen on cucumber they love my baby tomatoes from the greenhouse.
what's your quails favourite treats.

Lettuce, and for pudding, more lettuce. I have to be careful not to put it where the dog can reach it, or he scoffs the lot when my back is turned. Must be good stuff!

oh yes the lovely lettuce, i have used all mine up and have started to buy some, they do love it.
fancy your dog eating lettuce, you wouldn't get mine to eat it.
chickens and ducks love it also but i have to be careful not to give it to often as it can give them diarrhea.

My 3 go wild for lettuce, they love it but will eat basically anything that is green but sometimes they pick at it rather than eating :D They won't eat tomato or sweetcorn. I have also noticed that they like "small" pieces to eat so I normally end up tearing the lettuce into small pieces for them.

I thought they would like fruit such as strawberries or nectarines, whcih the hens go mad for when they're lucky enough to get a bit, but the quails didn't even sniff at them. Evidently, not fruit eaters!

Mine are lettuce monsters too :-)07 though they will eat most fruit & veg I give. They went mad for blueberries today.

Mine love lettuce too, although anything green and chopped up small they hoover up.
Also corn on the cob if I cook it first (only put about a 2" piece in though). They peck all the corn out.
And mealworms, I swear they can smell them - I only treat them to live ones once a month, but they jump up and down when I come out of the house with the box.
As a special treat (only now and again) they like the little suet strips that you get in the wild bird food - they go made for them and I get mugged before I can get my hand into the cage.

lots of great food for the quails, some great suggestions for alternative food. :D
