Went out today to have a look into getting some more chickens and......

came home with 2 15 week Cream legbars! I have no idea about this breed, I just fell for them as they look incredibly cute

So what are they like to keep, any info would be greatly appreciated!

I've promised not to come with anymore chickens....but then again...

We're all as bad as each other on here

Cream legbars are lovely - they need no extra care than other chickens - they have a reputation for being flighty but mine are really relaxed, friendly and inquisitive. They are good layers and lay beautiful pale blue eggs.

Good luck with them :D

Very jealous here
I'd love some cream legbars, enjoy them.
Hopefully when we have our allotment (emailed council to see where we are on waiting list, as its been 3yrs so far) I'll get some.
Have also recently discovered pics online of legbar coloured sabelpoots, want some of these so much.

Hi There

Dont talk to me about obsessions.

293 Ex Batts.

Hatched a batch of 11 Cuckoo Marans last Sunday

Took delivery of 104, day old Black rock chicks last Monday

24 more fertile Cuckoo maran eggs due this Tuesday. (14th)

Another 100 Ex Batts due next month

Running out of space and money and hours in the day, fast.

Charlie---I have inherited a legbar -shes flighty and neurotic BUT I hatched some recently--they are the bravest, cheekiest naughty chicks I've ever had--great fun and they are growing so fast. I wonder if Rookies real name is Bernard Matthews?????Ros

Legbars are a lovely breed to keep, I only have the Cream Legbars these days but used to have the Cotswolds also. Find them a little flighty but will eat out of your hand, do not like having cuddles!

Havent got cream legbars, but yes you are on the slippery slope  :-)08

i started with 1 welsummer boy & 3 LS, now have 3 different breeding pens & various LF & bantams  more coming next month, which will mean 12 different breeds & eggs already ordered for next year!! Enjoy!!!!!
