I think we all know it's not a great idea to walk directly under a group of perching birds, I just wish someone had told Croucher my White Star.
I was just watching them this morning before letting them out of the run when I see her walk directly underneath Snowy just as she is gearing up to have a poop, it drops down, splat!!, a direct hit right on her head, worse still it was a caecaly one, went all over her comb and head feathers. Poor thing was shaking her head around like crazy trying to get it off, because of it being so close to the eyes and her being so flighty I think I'm just going to leave it to wear off over time, first time I have actually seen this happen though surprisingly enough.

Our coops with perches high enough to walk under are at the ends of the coop in the opposite direction to the pop-hole so that doen't often happen. We only have a problem at night if one decides to sleep under the perch and we don't move her. The new coops are only 9" high perches, again opposite to the pop-hole and nest box, so we've eliminated both problems I think Dinosaw.

I'll pass on your comments, sure they will go down well :-)10 , don't worry I'll keep them anonymous :), if you see a white bird appear at your window it's not my fault . The perches are actually at the far end of the covered run, they don't normally scratch around down there so it seemed to be a bit of a fluke. By lunchtime it seemed that most of the poop had dissapeared from her head so no harm done except to her dignity as she is a real preener and keeps herself very clean, unlike Snowy who pooed on her who is absolutely filthy, perhaps it was a sneaky ploy on her part to bring her down to the same level :-)02 .
