After waiting all day for my daughter to get home from school we had an official great escape tea party with my aunt. Aunt bought the homebaked cake, chocolates and i supplied the pot of tea and then we had the official opening of the run doors! :o

Don't get too excited as all four girls were quite contented digging themselves some holes in the earth and lying in them to cool down in the sun and then the odd flap of the feathers to dust themselves.

After sitting finishing our cake and tea we noticed that the girls had started to venture out of the run! :D They were out up until half an hour ago when i managed to entice them back into the coop slowly by shaking their feeder and placing it back in the run where they followed one another back in! Was really worried about getting them back in their home but turned out to be not a problem!

So they are all having something to eat and drink just now before i get them back in the coop for the night.

Hi, good to hear it went well- as long as they don't get spooked/frightened then they will settle down very quickly- they quickly learn to go back to the coop for food/water and shelter.
regards, David :)

Glad to hear you had no problems. Mine were out for the second time tonight but they know the sound of the corn tin now and followed me in easily. Like you I was worried about getting them in, the first time was a little more chaotic but thats probably because the children were involved

Thanks David,

They had a great wee time out and about in the garden. We have a 2 & 1/2year Labradoodle who is a one in a million wee diamond. We had the first day and a half with the girls in the coop and run with Molly (our dog), my daughter Amy and myself sitting with them for most of the daylight hours just watching all the things that they do, so the girls i think were used to seeing Molly walking and playing in the garden.
It really helped today when they were all out. :D Although Molly seems to think that they want to play until they flap their wings and then she just walks away. Only Millie the Sussex Ranger seems to be taking an interest in her and i think could be best pals soon enough
