I can't move my girls in winter but am worried about the best thing to use in the run. I let them free range when I am around but always put them into the run when I am out. Any suggestions from all you long time keepers out there would be appreciated. thanks

The best thing to do is to roof the run. Mine has been down with clear plastic corrugated panels and the difference in wet or cold weather is unbelievable. Then you can use whatever you like on the floor.
Whether its roofed or not, you can reduce the mud by laying permeable weed proof membrane over the earth, as at least this will stop them digging p the mud. Then you can put wood chippings on top, or Aubiose if the run has a roof. If no roof, good drainage is essential.

Thanks for that, the run is covered but I wondered which material to use for the best, I had not heard of Aubiose but I have now found it on the net...just tucked the girls up for the night and its only 7.35 pm, must be darker because its raining
