Hello, or salut

I live in France with my husband and we have 3 ducks, 14 chickens, 3 cockerals, 1 turkey and rabbits - at least 3 in security and a few who have escaped - more fool them.

We do not eat our animals, much to the amusement of our french counterparts.

I am actually on here today, because we have one of our ducks who is suffering from worms. At the moment, he is in our veranda as outside - there is 12inches of snow. I have left a bowl of water with garlic and some food. The problem is that he is petrified of us! I tried using a syring to feed him water, but he just panicked.

What does one do with a sick LARGE duck?

Hi,
my aylesbury's were huge, and only came up to me for bread.Ducks seem to hate being picked up,but,I would wait until it is dark, then pick him/her up.Use a large towel or sheeet, that is large enough to wrap around the body keeping his/her wings tight and snug to the body.If you've ever seen a swan bag, like that with their legs sticking out straight behind.
You can then open the bill and syringe the wormer down.Good luck :-)17 .
