Have managed to solve my problem with getting the girls back in thanks to all of you guys on here talking about giving them a small amount of mixed grain!

Was in town and managed to get a big bag of mixed grain out of interest it tried about a couple of table spoons of the mixed grain between the four girls in a tupperware tub and shook it until the girls followed me back to their run/coop. had some in my hand to let them have a peck to see what i had. Then chucked the rest in the run and they all went in after it.

Let them our for three hours when i got back tonight and when bed time came i took the same again in the tub and started walking towards the coop and they all came sprinting down the garden from all directions to get their corn!!! Was a sight to be seen, will admit i had a wee chuckle to myself Took it over to the run and they all went in once i had put it in for them including Beryl who quite often can take a bit of coaxing to get her to come back in!

So chuffed so thank you everyone for your advice i'm a very happy mumma hen tonight knowing i'll have no more worries getting them back in now.

:lol: Don't you just love the way they run? Give it a couple of days and you won't even need the tub, they'll follow you everywhere in the hope that you have something for them
Was cleaning out their coop today and so I locked them outside the run while I was inside and they hated it! Made a huge fuss and kept trying to get in every chance they got. Then, when I'd finished I let them in and walked away so they turned and charged after me. They were just determined not to miss anything :lol: :lol:

I was wetting myself. Tonight i even found myself walking uicker than usual and looking over my shoulder just to see them running after me! :lol: Easily pleased!

Talking about cleaning the coop i know exactly what you mean since feeding them the corn yesterday for the first time everywhere i go and everything that i do all four girls are there now.

Beryl our Blue Ranger is still a wee bitty shy though, can't seem to soften her up even with the corn! All the girls now will let you stroke their backs for a wee bit and even jump onto your lap, but Beryl will come over to see whats happening and if you lift your hand even slowly towards her she moves away everytime

Hi Kim,
Matilda, our Blue is exactly the same, perhaps its something to do with the breed. Not so Lulu though, when we go in to collect the eggs she sits on top of the nest box so we can't open it. You can almost hear her saying,"no corn,no eggs". :lol: She's very cheeky!
