Just wondering what temporary runs people have set up during the Avian Flu issue. This is our effort - we have made a fairly decent size run with beansticks and netting inside their original run which has electric fencing. They seem perfectly happy and can still run around and scratch at the ground.

Looks a good run, Anni, a lovely setup you've got there, and I'm sure it would help, but I'm not sure it would fully comply with the regulations, as wild birds would be able to land on it, or fly over it, and might be able to deposit their droppings through the mesh, and this is the way any bird flu virus would arrive. Thank goodness the risk is small here in the UK, but we haven't had the all-clear yet.

The Defra guidelines state that 'Where birds remain outside, set up a temporary enclosure covered with netting that wild birds cannot access'.

This is what we have done
