Does taking a free ranged chickens eggs induce irate behavior and unstable egg laying?
Someone told me that something along those lines happened to him before and I'd like to know if this is supposed to be something common. I'm thinking of having my own laying hens and incubating the eggs, but I've been told the hens get irate when you take away all their eggs.. and eventually don't lay eggs, or don't finish laying them continuously, and they start breaking and eating their own eggs.
I have to lay and hatch my own chicks for plans to work.. and if I go big time with it then I can't have things like that. Also if I have my hens brood over their chicks it means less egg laying.. I'm using an indigenous strain of chicken local to southeast asia.
any advice?
