Swollen, red, wrinkly face????

Hi everyone, just a quick question to ask whether anyone might know what could be wrong with my Potty Dotty!

She has just stopped being broody ( :roll and has now started moulting strangely! But I noticed yesterday that one side of her face was a bit puffy. The whole of her fleshy area around her eye on one side was swollen, but today it seems worse, all her fleshy areas are very bright red and the other side also seems to be more swollen than normal as well. She seems fine in herself, eating and behaving normally. Could this e some sort of infection? What should I do? I will try to take a photo tomorrow.

Hi Sue.
Has she been bitten or stung by an insect, perhaps? A wasp sting maybe?
Can you use Anthisan on a hen?

I did wonder whether it was a sting, but I would have thought it would be more localised and just a swelling rather than being bright red all over. Not sure though.

Sounds like a sting or bite to me Sue, or perhaps bumped into something. We had Basil with the same symptoms and he was fine in a few days. We couldn't see an actual bit or sting point, so perhaps the latter was the reason. He's a very big boy and a bit clumsy, especially when chasing his girls!
