hello, I am considering my first ducks next year and wondered if anyone can tell me more about the swedish blue and the shetland breeds. I have looked them up on the internet but knowledge on these forum pages is probably more valuable than what I have found. Anything from temperament and noise to egg laying to particular needs would be appreciated. I thought of the Black indian because of neighbours (noise) and space but the egg production that I have read looks very poor and imagined the good old khaki would be the one. But I like the look of the swedish blue and then came across the shetland, which looks similar - maybe the Vikings took the swedish one across the seas!
If anyone knows any breeders that would be useful too. I keep a few hens if that makes any difference..
