Small- scale poultry keepers are bring invited to respond this survey. I've done it, and it seems worthwhile.
"Staff at the Epidemiology Research Unit at Inverness are inviting people who keep poultry on a small scale in their garden, small holding or farmyard, to respond to a survey.
This survey, which targets keepers of between 1 and 50 birds of any species, seeks to explore poultry-keepers’ attitudes to the management and welfare of their birds and how they utilise the eggs and/or meat produced. The results will provide a clearer insight of the distribution and numbers of birds which are not registered by commercial producers so that plans for disease outbreaks, should they occur, can be effectively implemented. This work is funded by Scottish Government through its Strategic Research Programme."

Although it's funded by the Scottish Government, responses from all parts of the U.K. are encouraged.
