They've all just had a pedicure, and are looking forward to a lovely course of Flubenvet, starting tomorrow.

Great pic, I presume that is Lily on the roosting bar? Or maybe its Iris? Hips forward, tilt to the left, pout pout pout!

We are having roast leg of somebody for sunday dinner later!

Iris on the perch, Lily Leghorn bottom right! Iris is bottom of the pecking order, so cautious about getting too close to the new treat.
Was it a leg from a friend of yours? I suppose whoever it was, didn't have a leg to stand on.

Beautiful girls, especially the big chunky black ones. They look very striking. It would make a great caption photo, but I am not witty enough to think of one.

Yes, when I was picking them up in turn to trim their toenails, I was very conscious of how heavy the two chunky black ones felt, compared with the lightweight leghorns, especially little Pearl, who is a true leghorn, whereas Lily is a bit more hybrid, with a broader back. Lily's comb looks more upright in the photo but that's just the way it fell at that moment. I can tell them apart when they're together, but it's harder when they're apart. Now they've finished their moult they are temporarily in new Persil plumage - unfortunately Lily was shat upon last summer by a hen on a higher perch, (maybe getting her own back for all the bossing around,) Although I tried to clean her up it left a yellow stain until she changed her feathers.

I know what you mean about the persil plumage... My Holly (white leghorn) moulted back in November & now looks more "Ecover on a 30° wash"
