Strange Skin on a chicks neck

Hello everyone,

We recently hatched 4 bouncing baby Spangled Hamburghs, they are now 11 weeks old, at least 2 are Cockerels. The smaller of the two (Broccolli according to my 4 year old), got a bit of a pecking on his neck a few weeks back. Nothing major but the after effects are a bit odd.

Part of the area has got some sort of growth on it, slightly paler than the skin colour and quite wrinkled. No new feathers are coming through it but it causes him no discomfort and he's perfectly happy and seemingly healthy. We've trawled the internet and asked around but to no avail.

He wasn't wounded other than losing a few feathers.

Any Ideas?

Ah, Keloid seems to tick the boxes. I've never heard of one before but the Wikipedia pictures are pretty grim!
Now to get him some Collagen enriched stretch mark cream.

I dont think it matters what cream/oil you use James. Its probably the massaging/increased blood flow from this that helps.If you are going to do that you need to massage 3+ x /day for several minutes to get blood flowing rather than slapping cream on top and not rubbing in!. Ros
