Hi we're new to the site and relatively new to keeping hens in the garden. We have 4 Pekin bantams just over a year old. They're really perky little hens and lay every 2-3 days. But today first one then another started staggering a bit. In the evening they were wobbily on the perch and we separated them from the other two. The vet suggested this afternoon that it might be Listeria and has given us antibiotics to treat it. But reading up on the web they don't seem to fit the profile for this disease well. They are bright, in good weight, feeding well and in every other way appear to be excellent examples of healthy hens. They even laid today.
We'd be interested to hear any alternative suggestions or advice just in case we need to watch for something else.
