Here are some photos from Stafford County Show that Rupert Stephenson took. This is a small selection, I will upload them all to poultrykeeper over the next couple of weeks onto the various breed photo pages.

You can read more about Rupert's Poultry Photography work in the Photos of Chickens section here.

Enjoy!

Some lovely photos.

Rupert did try to take one of my Yellow Dutch pullet, but she refused to stand for him.

They are wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing. I love the Dutchie. Stunning.

Now I'm missing my Dutchies a lot

Rupert is a real star with his photos. He has been so kind to me - I try to take a few photos myself but birds behind bars don't look as good and Rupert has guided me so much, helping me to get a few decent shots.

You have some fantastic photos on your website though Jane - very professional. The photo of the bantam chicks on the grass is absolutely amazing, I love it. That's one to enlarge and print for sure.

The photos are wonderful. I often have to take photos of birds at the local shows up here for the websites, mags etc.. but mine never look anything like those ones.
I do need the practise! The background does make a massive difference

Yes, you are right Hazel. I have tried taking photos at shows and birds in cages are not too great - Rupert's set-up is great and people seem very happy to take their birds up to be photographed and the background really helps.

I received a CD with all of his photos from the Stafford show yesterday so I will go through and see what is missing and upload the others soon.

I must co-opt OH into building me a portable background for my photos. I usually have people's legs, shopping bags, doorways, walls, etc in the background of the photos.. you name it, I have it in the background of the photos.

So much so, my nephew spotted himself in distance of the background of the most recent show champion published in our local rag!! Nephew was pleased!

 That's great! His claim to fame!

Rupert is very kind to our site, I'm so pleased he doesn't mind sharing his photos. I always try to do him justice by crediting his photos where ever possible.

I'm hoping in the long run to find someone willing to write the odd show report for the pk site. I've managed to recruit a vet last week who is going to write a series of articles on respiratory problems, digestive problems and so on over the next 6 months to a year and I'm having a chat with somebody about genetics articles at the Hanover show - so if you know of anyone Hazel who has an interest in this sort of thing, it would be great to get in touch with them... ;) Ear to the ground

I'm getting very excited about Hannover now. I'm meeting a few people over there which will be nice but can't wait to see what they have to offer on the continent.
