splitting large coop in half

my large coop is 8ft by 4ft and sometimes my girls tend to really argue when it comes to bed time and entering the house and a certian few always get picked on and i was wandering wether its worth splitting my house into 4ft by 4ft houses with either wood down the centre or soild wire mesh so then at least the girls could then have a choice over what house they want and maybe this might settle them down a bit 05 .
all i would need to do is cut another poop hole into one of the doors as one door already has this .

I've done something similar with a large shed, split into two coops and a small shed. They will form into separate flocks when you do that and you could then get fighting through the wire. They will also end up on the wrong side by flying over a low barrier and more fights. My suggestion is to divide it solid at the bottom 18" and mesh to the roof above that. Means the ventillation won't be affected either Karminski. What's happening with nest boxes ?

thanks for that chris good idea about most wood then wire at the top , mine use plastic boxes that can be moved anywhere and i have quite a few building up in the garden so theres always plenty to go round as i will just add another 4 boxes into the other half . am of after next wek for 2 weeks so it will give me something to do or maybe just adding another poop hole might help into the other door all i ask is they go to bed nicely but they never do it :lol:
