Very informative Tyg, good photos in that link that explains clearly how to apply a splint and "chick boot" :D

FYI: About three weeks ago, we had one of the chicks hatch and wasn't able to walk, literally crawled on its bottom. I used the bandaid prosthesis and found it works first hand. Kept the prosthesis on the chick for 5 days, after this she fully recoved and wlaks now without any sign that something was wrong with her when she hatched.

our little girl (Chinese painted quail) has a curled toe and it was not corrected when she was a chick. It doesn't seem to hinder her at all, and the only concern is keeping the claw blunt so that it does not cut into her pad. Other than that, she is a brilliant 'watchbird' for her 'sisters' :)

We've had a few with on or other or both over the years and it's amazing how quickly they get back to normal, once you've had a couple of go's it gets easier! The first time it took two of us ages to do and then it fell off!

I know what you mean, Ive just had to do it to a tiny Serama chick, its been 2 days since and all is looking good.

The site is not mobile optimized. It is very slow on phone. I'll have to check it out on PC.

We tried the bandaid method on our Japanese quail and it worked brilliantly. It is remarkable that it can be corrected so easily.
