Hi I am about to incubate my first lot of eggs, what is the best
range for the humidity to be?
Ive read so many different ranges, am quite confused now.
Thanks!

A lot depends on where you incubator is, what type it is, how old your house is (old houses have more humidity than new ones) whether you use central heating in the house - a million and one different scenarios can affect your incubator.

So - your best bet is too run with your incubator at about 35% until day 18/19 and then up your humidity to about 55%. If your incubator does not have humidity sensors and settings (eg octagon 10 or 20), then fill one 'pot' in your incubator with water when you set it up and keep it topped up and fill the second 'pot' on day 19.

You will hear people say 'running dry' but that doesn't mean that it's 0% humidity, it just means no added water, because the air going into the incubator keeps it at about 30% humidity. :)

Hope this helps - but as I said - different strokes for different folks!
