At about what age do a cockerel's wattles start to develop? I have two white, was convinced that one was a cockerel, but they are 12 weeks old and no sign of wattles yet, can anyone please help with this?

Thanks for your reply,
Again, it is probably a waiting game, until one cock-a-doodles and one lays an egg. Very sorry cannot as yet do photos - must get someone to show me how! I'm only just getting the hang of computer wizardry.
The silkies are stunning, one slightly larger than the other but both lovely. Regards valerieb.

I have had many a silkie at 18 weeks "change sex" overnight! female at night and in the morning changes to a boy!!!

They are a bit hard to sex. Is there any difference in their behaviour? My boy was more scatty than the girl. fingers crossed you have 2 girls, will wait til you put pics on though.

heres my silkie x polish looking like a girl but got a feeling ctoo is a boy about 26 weeks old

the two iv left front up now an then but only like the others both think they parrots and purch on hand or shoulder that why ctoo (cockatoo) :D

Many thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions re. sexing Silkies - I have the answer, it is a very strangled, high pitched "cock-a doooooodle- doooooo" This stunning snow white bird needs a new home, I shall have to start looking looking very soon. Why are the boys always so loving and endearing, and entertaining?
I still have not yet mastered photos and how to do them, but again, thanks for trying to help. I broke my arm very badly, and have been out of action and in pain.
My other cockerels, Light Sussex, Cream legbar, Cotswold Legbar, and a silver Pencilled Wyandotte, have all been rehomed. The Wyandotte found a home with a breeder, who said "He is the best I've ever seen, never thought I would ever come by such a bird" - everyone is happy, he went for the princely sum of £5 because the young man wanted to give me something - it still felt like selling a child!. Does everyone feel like this about their chicks, or is it just me?
Anyway, thanks again, everyone, regards, Valerie B.
