Hello everyone. Need help please this morning I went to check on my hatch of 2 ducks, gosling and 3 chicks. My gosling greeted me with clear snot dangling from beek. Please help. Ive put him/her in separate brooder ive jus nocked up.
Has anyone experienced this?
Any advice out there.

Could this be due to any sort of dust allergy, Jamie? What sort of bedding are they on? How is his breathing, any noise? And is there any discharge from his eyes?
I'm sure you're right to separate him until you know what's wrong. I hope someone more knowledgeable than I will have more ideas.

Ther on straw. No noises from beek. No discharge from eyes.
Just clear snot from nose or mouth.
Thanks for your help on both topics.

How old is he? Is he still under heat? Asuuming you don't want to take him to the vet for antibiotics at this stage, because at least the snot is clear, not yellow and obviously infected. If you keep him warm and comfortable, maybe with a bit if heat even if he's off it by now, he may show you what you need to do. Either he will get better, or his snot will become thicker and greener, in which case he will need treatment.

Sort to hear about your poorly gosser :(
It's so hard to say with something like that, I suspect a vet would check for chest rattling to see if there was an inf room and then prescribe a broad spectrum anti biotic. If it doesn't clear up in a day or two and her behviour changes them I would get her to a vet.
Keep us posted :)

Update on gobby gosling.lol. she's still eating and drinking good. No more of this clear snot
Dangling from beek. Seems fine in his or her self. It keeps calling for his mate donald duck.put them two together and they were running abour together wings out. Then the other duck wanted to be out with then then this duck sounded like his balls have drop.lol.
Started sqeeking then a quack like noise. Any body else had this from weekold duckling??

Sometimes they get something stuck and then there is snot type liquid produced while they are trying to get it cleared ;) Glad little one is ok !
