I see a lot of tonics for poultry that contain seaweed ( bladder rack) as I live 50 yds from the beach this is in a plentiful supply to me. Would it be ok to hang a bunch of this seaweed up as a treat now and then just like nettles and other such leaves?

Hi Shoreedge. I do know that chickens have a very low tolerance to salt and we have always considered salt poisonous to them as their tolerance is that low. Problem is going to be removing the salt from the seaweed. I don't know exactly how much of it they can take however, but am not inclined to experiment.

Thanks for the advice think I will give the seaweed idea a miss

Heysham village Lancashire and it probably about 20 yds from the beach. At least no one is going to build in front of me!!
