New Search functionality and better related items on the poultrykeeper.com site.

I noticed this morning that the search wasn't working correctly - it wasn't returning results. This is now fixed.

I have also added Search Tags that appear at the bottom of articles to make it easier to find things, as well as improving the related items list.

The related items now appear at the end of an article and should be a much closer match to the article you are reading. If you hover over the link, it also shows a tool-tip preview of the article.

Have fun.
Tim.

thanks Tim,I searched for something on sat,it wouldn't work so I read all the topics in a relevent section......

OK Lydia - well, I started upgrading the software and fixing this little bug at 5.30 this morning and I'm just finishing now for the night... I only planned to spend a couple of hours on it! I have had some time off don't worry but it feels like a l-o-n-g day!

There's still a couple of issues - like the automatically generated keywords for the articles are a little stupid. I have been manually creating the keywords now to improve this- I have done about 100 articles this afternoon / this evening out of 350 articles on the site (gulp).... but when I'm done, it should be pretty neat at suggesting a related article and the right tags for an article.

You may not have seen the tags and related articles module as I have to disable it while I'm working on it but from a web surfers point of view, when they reach the site, it should make life much easier, getting around pages they are interested in.

Anyway, fun and games. Hope you had a good Christmas!

Tim.

A big thank-you then from all of us.We do really appreciate all the effort you put into this site and forum.
I had a very easy xmas, went out for xmas dinner on xmas eve,so I didn't cook at all on xmas day.Spent the day snuggled up with dogs and chooks on the sofa, the dogs wanted to watch happy feet on the tv,so the chooks and I sonoozed whilst that was on as it was total c**p.
hope you had a lovely xmas to.

Yes, lovely thanks. The children have had lots of fun too - they get so excited!

Must get outside though - I've spent far too long on the computer this Christmas! The birds are calling! ;)
