had sad day today brought 3 chamoise poland chicks at market today...they looked a little cold so i poped them down my jumper till i got them home sadly 2 have died  got one left and am sitting up with him to night hoping he lives through. if he does am hoping he's not a HE as i cant keep him!!! unless someone can tell me that they dont crow? or at least very loud?

Sorry to hear that. How old are they Ged? If not feathered will need a heat lamp/electric hen urgently. Might be advisable to to get a few chicks the same age as company.

edit: some sweetened water syringed will help as well, try and get the chick eating and drinking as quickly as possible

-----just wonder if it might be an idea to add Baycox(or similar) to water too.?

Ditto the others. If not feathered then a heat lamp is a must. Won't really survive without one. If you've not got one you can try a plain light bulb but do some reading up first as different from a UV lamp. In the meantime a hot water bottle wrapped in a pillowcase so the chick gets the warmth will help. Just don't let it cool as chick will soon perish. Needs to be kept warm all night. If you've an Aga or warm airing cupboard then a box in there might be warm enough. If the chick can huddle to the side against the warmth of the tank or some such.

Hope the chick made it through the night - fingers crossed for you.
