Well things seem to break in threes they say, but we are well past that now! Over the last two weeks the following things have broken:-
Microwave -Panasonic combined oven and grille type, 8 years old. Replacement £200 so we got a cheap one for £40.
Tumble dryer -2 years old and not used more than a dozen times, making a nasty noise that needs a look.
Computer printer -Epson 880, paper feed seems to have seized. 14 years old but just got 4 cartidges for it. Lost without it.
Car headlight bulb -Renault £18 each!!!!! + £20 to fit. Having a laugh, I fitted it.
Van wing mirror -crazy taxi driver and had to swerve. Took mine and another vans out -£75
Kettle -Brita filter type £38. We have an old one as a spare, but it leaks. Rosie off to get another immediately as the Costco token expires tomorrow and snow is expected overnight.
Heater in Ensuite -switch has jammed on so have to use isolator next door. £20 and hastle fitting it.

What's next?

Oh my goodness! What a list Chris! Hope it all sorts itself out soon! and no more breakages!

Look on the bright side Chris,Less things to take with you when you move:)Just kidding.I know its happenning always in wrong time but when I had to replace bulb in my car the cost of the bulb was £80(just for the bulb) :o ,so do not feel bad about £18

Ha,ha try volvo v70 with xenon ligthbulbs which is impossible to replace by yourself.Mind you the price went down recently and now you can get them for just£40 each(so far I had to replace only 1-thank Good) :-)17By the way I was in shock too when I had found out how much they cost!

Volvo eh. They have always been expensive. So the printer is broken -cam sheared on the paper feed. Won't be fixing it as we struggle to get cartidges anyway. Looking at those combined units, copier, scanner, printer type. Either Epson, HP or Canon. None seem particularly good and one Epson review was appalling. Trying to find one with cheap replacement cartridges is the problem. I don't want to be paying £35 for a colour cartridge!

So we ended up with a combined copier, printer and scanner with wireless capability and extra cartidges for £79.99. Cartridges are £24 or less for a set of 4 but all can be changed separately so none is wasted. HP Photosmart 5510 from Argos was the best deal would you believe! Noisy on start-up and lots of bad reviews on paper alignment which all appear to be due to users aligning the document to the wrong corner of the glass. Print is moderate resolution but heaps better than our old units which cost £200 plus £100 for the scanner 14 years ago -loads of money then! Anyone want an Epson scanner in full working order ?
