Hi everyone,my rooster started to fall-he cant perch falling from them and loosing balance almost constantly especially when he try to stand up.He is almost 21 weeks old.Non of others showing same symptoms. He is eating, but he is not himself today.I had noticed in the morning he seamed sleapy and withdrown from others standing alone with closed eyes. Please help! :(

What are his poos like? Is his crop full? Sounds as though he is very weak and hasn't been eating for some reason. Eyes shut but are his eyelids swollen as that may be virus ILT, where throat is raw and too painful to eat. In which case vet should prescribe Synulox. Have you introduced any new birds in the last two weeks?

Poo is normal,he is top bird in the flock so eating well and he is nicely build,no new birds. He is eating. On the flat grass he is walking almost normal but if you sudenly move him inside cop(high entrance-so I had lifted him up tonight)he falling all over the place, cant keep ballance on perch. He falling asleep somtimes not all the time(never done that before during day time)Eyes not swollen looks as usually sharp and bright no change in colour.

If he was human I would say the loss of balance is due to an ear infection. Could it be a tumour?? Loss of balance is happening when light is low (in the dark coop) so he can't correct himself using any visual input. He has then to rely on whatever balance mechanism chickens have -in humans it is a small bone in the ear system ,I think called the anvil. Otherwise then he is perfectly healthy. Suggest a visit to the vet is required.

Hi,
It is very contagious herpes virus and is passed by what is called feather dander. It can survive for months in poultry house litter and dust, so good hygiene is essential
Chicks in big flocks are vaccinated at day old I think it's done with a spray of vaccine. Chooks which have had Marek's and survived are never cured and will always be a source of infection.
Very young birds are most susceptible to the disease. Birds with Marek's will become paralyzed for a few days and then recover, but will eventually die of it

Hi ,I do not think is Marek's as reading alot about it yesterday.I was thinking it may be something with ears as he was very uncomftable when I try to tuch it yesterday. My cop is a very light as part of the roof is glazed. He seems better today,do not fall as much as yesterday.I had given all of them priobiotyk in drinking water and in feed so hopefully it will pass by tomorow.I had googled his symptoms yesterday and some people had been using homeopatic remedy for it(arnica) and sombody sugested Terramacin powder to mix with water.I went to pet store today to try to get this but told me I have to see vet and awian wet is in tomorow. So if he still not well will take him there.Does anybody used this terramacin as the guy which sugested this said I coulg get this in pet store-but I could not get this in mine.Thank you everyone who took they time to write to me.

Hope you get him sorted Tygresek75. Think Mareks would result in disorientation all the time. Symptoms are very similar to Lymphoid Lucosis which is tumours along lymphatic system -lost two to that. LL isn't a disease, more a condition latent in all birds triggered by something, like first lay in our case.
I stick with my original thoughts on a faulty balance system which may be built into the inner ear like ours is.

I hope is not LL then. He's on the mend I think getting better every H.Sems to be more of himself now too. This was realy wird.
